10:30 - 16:30

Tutor: Clare Revera

During this workshop Clare will show you how to weave in willow and hedgerow materials to make a fabulous little berry basket - ideal for those blackberry picking days! All materials and equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring along your own pair of secateurs if you wish.

Clare Revera makes traditional and non-traditional Welsh baskets inspired by the colours and materials of the landscape. Clare is passionate about working with natural sustainable materials found in the local countryside - hazel, willow and birch in particular. She grows materials in her own garden in Ogmore-by-Sea, on her field in Pembrokeshre and local community spaces.

Clare is committed to passing on her skills to others and is very involved with the Basketmakers Association, curating touring exhibitions that help raise public awareness of many of our endangered basketry heritage crafts. The Makers Guild Wales recently showed Basketry: Rescuing, Retaining, Reviving at Craft in the Bay, that has since continued it's tour within the UK. She joined the Makers Guild Wales in 2017.
