Flannel is a lightweight woollen fabric which was the cornerstone of Welsh textile production. As a handweaver Jill is drawn to its structural simplicity and practicality as a cloth. Flannel was traditionally used to make garments, especially shirts, aprons and underwear for Welsh farmers, miners and steelworkers.
