It is believed that the Basged Lestri Te or Welsh Tea service basket was traditionally made of Buff willow. The Basged Lestri Te was probably developed sometime in the 20th century. By the 1960s it was a commonly seen item in Welsh farming households displayed on the Welsh dresser. There appear to be a range of different variations of the basket although all may have included the distinctive central cutlery section.
