Flow & Flora: In Rhythm with Nature
Saturday 9th August 2025
10:30 - 13:00
Tutor: Claire Cawte
Immerse yourself in a sensorial experience as colour, pattern and fragrance come together in this hands-on workshop.
Discover Happa zome, a traditional Japanese art form that uses leaves and flowers to create natural prints on fabric. Watch vibrant hues and delicate shapes transfer from plant to cloth while the air fills with the soothing scents of lavender, mint, roses, fennel and other garden flora.
We’ll use a gentle, repetitive pounding technique—a rhythmic, meditative motion that brings you into a state of flow as the natural pigments are released.
Your fabric will be pre-treated with a mordant, helping your prints retain their beauty and vibrancy over time. You can transform your piece into a neck scarf, bag, or keep it as a one-of-a-kind art piece.
Perfect for nature lovers, creatives and anyone curious about botanical printing.
All materials will be provided on the day.
