Inspired by the textures and colours of rocks, exposed strata layers in the cliffs, eroded beach debris Lisa encounters whilst walking, this hand-built vessel is made of black stoneware clay and decorated with porcelain slips, staines and copper. Working directly into the clay before creating the structures, Lisa combines combustible materials and metals that eat into the surface of the clay with poured, painted, dripped and splashed slips. It is the enjoyment of the making process and the continuing development of an evolving creativity which drives her work.
