Ebb is a unique sculpture using a combination of lost wax, cold and hot working techniques.
Capturing this unique form in wax and then glass encapsulates a moment of light, a fleeting view reminiscent of water. During its creation glass changes state from solid to liquid and then back to amorphous solid consequently this work represents a defined point of ebb, or flow back, a receding from solid back to liquid. If flow can be regarded as a form of progress, ebb is a returning back, a pause before the tide’s turn.
